Overview of the translation

.......The basic idea was to condense the Biblical text to allow those who wished to learn more about the Bible but didn’t have the time or wish to read the complete text to be able to do so. The compilers aim was to do this using modern language while still maintaining the meaning of the text (an ambitious objective), with the end result being a Bible about 1/4 the size. This translation includes the Old and New Testaments, along with the Apocrypha. Many other translations were consulted in the preparation of the text, including the King James Version, American Standard Version, and the Revised Standard Version.
